Osanbashi Yokohama International Passenger Terminal

Osanbashi Pier has functioned as Japan’s gateway to the sea since its completion in 1894. The current Osanbashi Yokohama International Passenger Terminal was opened in 2002 after undergoing renovation, and the unique design and innovative structure give it beauty worthy of a passenger terminal at one of Japan’s biggest ports. It has a capacity for mooring four 30,000-tonne ships, or two ships in excess of 30,000 tonnes. Cruise ships from all over the world call into this port, in addition to being the home port for Asuka II.
The 1st floor of the terminal is a parking lot for 400 cars. On the 2nd floor are the CIQ (customs, immigration and quarantine) Plaza, immigration lobby, restaurants, shops and an event hall. On the roof is a rooftop square and an observation deck.
Because the terminal is close to the city, there is excellent access to popular tourist spots, with Yamashita Park, Yokohama Chinatown and Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse being within walking distance, offering enjoyment for tourists even during brief port calls.
