Sankeien Garden Early Morning Lotus Viewing 2026
Sankeien Garden will host the “Early Morning Lotus Viewing” on weekends from July 25 (Sat) to August 9 (Sun), 2026.
The beautiful and fragrant lotus flower opens in the morning and closes its petals in the afternoon. The best time to see the blossoms at their peak is around 7 a.m. They begin to close around 9 a.m. and are fully shut by noon.
The lotus plant is commonly cultivated in water gardens, with its roots anchored firmly in the mud while its pure white or pink flowers rise gracefully above the surface. For this reason, the lotus is often regarded as a symbol of purity, majesty, grace, and serenity.
During the lotus blooming season, Sankeien Garden opens at 7 a.m., allowing visitors to enjoy the flowers in full bloom in the refreshing morning air.
