Yokohama Noh Theater is known for its expertise in planning and producing, and is the leading Japanese theater specific to traditional performing arts. It goes beyond producing only Japanese traditional performing arts, and produces new works through international collaborative programs.
The Yokohama Noh Theater’s main stage was built in 1875 for the estate of former lord of the Kaga domain and was later moved to the estate of former lord of Takamatsu domain, where it was known as the Somei Noh Stage. The stage was later dismantled. Currently the stage is restored using the original components.
Yokohama Noh Theater has a second stage as well as studio rooms for rehearsals and classes.
