Histoire de l'animation japonaise pour filles
The Yokohama Doll Museum is hosting the special exhibition “History of Japanese animation for girls” from Saturday, April 5 to Sunday, June 29, 2025.
This special exhibition looks back on over 60 years of magical girl history, showcasing how these charming heroines have inspired and empowered viewers across the decades. With a delightful collection of toys, figures, and dolls, you'll get to explore how the genre has evolved and left its mark on Japanese pop culture.
From the debut of the wizard girl, Sally in 1966, magical girls have captivated audiences with their sparkling transformations and magical powers. Over time, they’ve grown into powerful "girl heroes," bravely facing off against formidable foes. Today, the genre continues to expand in exciting new directions—with characters of diverse gender identities, content for adult fans, and even live stage connections (2.5D)!
