Kanagawa Plaza for Global Citizenship (Earth Plaza)

Kanagawa Plaza for Global Citizenship (or "Earth Plaza") is a prefectural, multi-purpose facility opened in February, 1998 in Sakae-ku, a ward of Yokohama.

Kanagawa Plaza for Global Citizenship has the nickname "Earth Plaza". This nickname got its inspiration from two things -"earth" and "tomorrow" (asu in Japanese) . It incorporates the feeling of "Think about the future of the earth."

"Global Citizens" are people who think daily about solving global issues, such as peace, the environment and poverty. Global Citizens view themselves as members of all the earth's living things and act locally to address these issues.
