Aperitif 2025 & Yokohama Silk Renaissance: Indulge in a luxurious evening with Yokohama’s silk, gourmet cuisine, and geisha!
Once flourishing as Japan’s leading silk trading port, Yokohama attracted people from Europe and the United States with its locally produced “Yokohama Scarf.” Today, we are once again highlighting the story of silk that spread from Yokohama to the world, and have prepared a special experience program for international visitors interested in Japanese culture.
A special event, Aperitif 2025 & Yokohama Silk Renaissance will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025. Guests can enjoy where you can enjoy five unique experiences highlighting the legacy of Yokohama silk.
Over 10 kinds of amuse-bouches and sweets crafted by Yokohama’s culinary professionals will be served, complemented by an open bar.

Yokohama Silk Reception
(1) Silk Reception
A one-of-a-kind Silk Party that brings together silk-themed gourmet food, experiences, fashion and Geisha performance.
(2) Silk & Flower Crafts
Experience painting on silk fabric under the guidance of an artist, or create oshibana (pressed flower art) using flowers associated with Yokohama.
(3) Silk Performance
At the height of Japan’s silk trade, silk from across the country was transported to Yokohama via Hachioji. This route became a bustling area known as the “Yokohama Silk Road”. Witness a special dance performed by the Yokohama and Hachioji geisha, who continue to carry on the traditions of their predecessors active along the historic route.
(4) Silk Dining
Explore the little-known possibilities of silk through food with this unique dining experience featuring a menu created by culinary specialists in Yokohama.
(5) Silk Fashion
An experience showcasing the world of silk fashion, supervised by silk artist Michiyo Inaba.
