Konica Minolta Planetarium Co., Ltd. will hold the grand opening of their fifth directly-managed planetarium "Konica Minolta PLANETARIA YOKOHAMA" on Thursday, March 24th 2022 in Yokohama Gate Tower. Konica Minolta PLANETARIA YOKOHAMA is the first dome planetarium theater in Japan to use the DYNAVISION(R)-LED dome system. A new planetarium for entertainment purposes in Yokohama, where visitors will experience "healing" and "comfort" through a starry sky and immersive full-dome images. The theater also features premium "Planet Seats," limited to four seats. Visitors can enjoy the new planetarium atmosphere as if they were floating in outer space. The planetarium has also attached a café and shop inside. The original drinks and snacks are all pleasing to the eye as well. Kebun Sankeien

The vast classical Japan garden covering over 175,000 square meters, renowned for its seasonal beauty. Sankeien contains many hisotrical houses and buildings that are recognized as being culturally significant by the government. These buildings were brought to the park from locations all over the Japan, and include a three storied pagoda located high up on a hill deep inside the garden. This pagoda, originally constructed in Kyoto in the mid-1400s, was relocated to Sankei-en in 1914. The entire garden was once the private home of Tomitaro “Sankei” Hara (1869-1939) an extremely wealthy silk merchant. It was opened to the public in 1906. As you stroll through the park you will find bridges, streams, small waterfalls, bamboo groves, and ponds. The house that Hara and his family lived in (Kakushokaku) is huge; a sprawling, flat dwelling with dozens of spacious, interconnected tatami rooms, overlooking a private green lawn. In late March or early April, the cherry blossoms (sakura) are in full bloom. In July and August, there is a pond just inside the entrance that is bursting with the beauty of thousands of Japanese pink lotus blossoms. In late autumn, you can enjoy the changing color of the leaves. In winter, plum blossoms (ume) start to bloom in mid to late February; nature’s way of telling the Japanese people that winter is almost over.

Aka-Renga Soko (GUDANG BATA MERAH YOKOHAMA)

Formally the Customs Inspection House for Yokohama Bay's shipping activities in the early 1920's, these handsome red brick buildings have been converted into one of Yokohama's most popular family or date spots. Inside the building there are many unique shops and restaurants. Outside, throughout the year, numerous events take place. October Beer Fest in autumn, a skating rink in winter, and concerts during the summer. Situated right on the bay, the views are beautiful. YOKOHAMA RED BRICK WAREHOUSE 1st Building The 3rd floor houses a hall with approximately 300 seats used for theater performances and concerts. It can be used as a party space as well. The 2nd floor is a multi-purpose space used for gallery and other events. The 1st floor has 5 shops including “Akarenga (brick) Depot” that sells brick goods, “Yokohama Glass” where you can experience glass craft making, “S. SHOBEY＆Masuda Gama” that sells silk products and Yokohama Yaki pottery and “Camera wa Suzuki”. Every winter, a skating rink decorated with illumination opens in the Akarenga Hiroba, attracting many people. YOKOHAMA RED BRICK WAREHOUSE 2nd Building Houses approximately 40 shops each having unique concepts. You can feel close to the ocean from the open cafes, restaurants, food court ("Picnic Court") and variety goods shop on the 1st floor. The 2nd floor has many characteristic interior, jewelry and variety goods shops. More restaurants, cafes and bars can be found on the 3rd floor. The cafe "Chano-ma" themed on "21st century tea room", and "bills" famous for "the best breakfast in the world" are especially popular.
