The exhibition ―Marie Antoinette Style

The exhibition ―Marie Antoinette Style

Yokohama Museum of Art is currently presenting “Marie Antoinette Style,” on view through Nov 23, 2026.

Marie Antoinette (1755–1793), the most fashionable queen in history, has exerted a lasting influence on fashion, design, film, and other fields from the 18th century to the present day. The exhibition explores the timeless appeal of Marie Antoinette’s style, and how and why it continues to be a constant source of inspiration for contemporary creators.

This exhibition is the first stop on the world tour of the show that drew significant attention at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and it will be the only venue in Japan.
A major highlight is the world‑premiere display of jewelry once owned by Marie Antoinette, along with other historically valuable objects from her collection.
The exhibition also features a special presentation unique to Japan, combining these works with pieces held in domestic collections.
More than 200 items will be showcased, including costumes from the film Marie Antoinette and collections by CHANEL and Moschino inspired by the queen.

It is an exhibition recommended not only for art lovers but also for fans of fashion and film.
