Yokohama Happy Lantern Festival 2026

“Yokohama Happy Lantern Festival ” is held from Tuesday, January 20 to Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

Approximately 60 locations across the waterfront and city center—including shopping streets, major railway stations, and commercial facilities—will be decoratedwith dazzling giant lantern installations. At select venues, visitors can also enjoy dynamic lion dance performances filled with energy and tradition.

As part of “YOKOHAMA NIGHT FLOWERS × GREEN×EXPO 2027,” fireworks inspired by Lunar New Year motifs such as dragons will light up the night sky, adding spectacular color to the city after dark.

In addition, a variety of cultural experiences will be available, including lion dance workshops for children and lantern painting activities, offering visitors the chance to immerse themselves in the rich traditions of Yokohama’s Chinatown.
