Shunsoro is a tearoom with three tatami mats and one daimedatami (three-quarters tatami mat) said to have been created by Oda Nobunaga(*1)'s younger brother Uraku. Choshukaku is a multistoried building that reportedly was formerly inside the Nijo Castle grounds in Kyoto. It is said to be given by Shogun Iemitsu(*2) to Kasuganotsubone, his nursing mother. Both buildings are surrounded by trees, are even more beautiful during the season of new green leaves and have an elegant appearance. A promenade that runs through the fresh greenery behind Choshukaku also is open to visitors.
