Sankeien Garden  - Yokohama City Cultural Property “Choshukaku” and “Yokobuean” Open to the Public During Autumn 2021

Sankeien is known for various historical architectures relocated from Kyoto, Kamakura, and other locations. Interior of these architectures are usually closed to the public but two buildings will be open for limited time during the autumn season. This year it is “Choshukaku” and “Yokobuean.”

“Choshukaku”
Built in 1623 during Edo Period, moved in 1922 during Tisho Era. This is a building with a unique architectural design, unlilke any other in Japan. It is believed that it used to be located on the premises of Nijojo Castle in Kyoto.
