Japan Coast Guard Museum YOKOHAMA is a resource center built next to the Yokohama Maritime Disaster Prevention Base, at the far end of Red Brick Park. It was opened in December 2004 aiming to deepen the understanding of the importance of maritime security, as well as the current conditions of the surrounding sea areas of Japan. The hull of the covert operation vessel involved in the incident that occurred in the Southwest Kyushu sea area in December 2001 is displayed. Items such as waterproof suits and jackets worn by crew members, as well as maps, and bags of snack collected after the incident are also displayed.
